QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Where will I be deployed?

Presently, program countries include: Afghanistan, Haiti, Iraq, Kosovo, Lebanon, Liberia, Sudan and the West Bank.

What is the time commitment for overseas travel and mission deployments?

Most full time assignments are long term, requiring at least a one year commitment. Shorter missions can last from two weeks to several months.

You may be required to work under wide range of conditions, depending on the training location. Training will normally be conducted in conjunction with the US Embassy in locations approved by the Embassy.

What about lodging in country and other life support?

Lodging will most often be in hotels near the training facility and approved by the US Embassy. In country transportation will be provided to and from the training site. FedSys will determine palatable sources for western style food in compliance with US Army policy and cooking facilities. Food sources will be inspected to ensure sanitary conditions are maintained.

What about health and emergency services?

As a FedSys employee, you will be covered for health and evacuation insurance should an emergency arise. Health care and contingency services will be available to all deployed personnel.

What about salary and compensation?

A full time position with FedSys is a W-2 employee that include; salary, health care benefits, 401K and paid time off. Actual pay rates are tied to the labor qualifications of the position and mission deployment. As a FedSys employee you will be paid semi-monthly. You will also be eligible for danger pay in some parts of the world, as approved by the Department of State.

What type of physical condition do I have to be in?

Medical conditions or physical impediments may disqualify candidates from overseas deployments as many overseas countries lack the ability to provide appropriate access for advisors or instructors with disabilities.

What type of security clearance will I need for employment?

All contract advisors shall possess either a Personnel Security Clearance or a Moderate Risk Public Trust Certification. Security packages must be approved by the Department of State prior to contract performance.

Is there a foreign language requirement?

In most mission deployments, there is no requirement for a foreign language as translators are provided.

Who will provide and fund any pre-deployment training?

FedSys will provide and cover the cost associated with pre-deployment training.

Will I have to furnish my own equipment or will it be provided to me?

FedSys will provide all training advisors with standard equipment including uniforms and immediate need items as they relate mission deployments. Weapons and additional equipment, as required by mission will be made available in country.

When deployed, how will I be able communicate with my family?

FedSys will provide training advisors with internet and telephone access. The best way to stay in contact will be through commercial service such as Vonage, Yahoo and Skype. These and other communications details will be discussed during pre-deployment meetings.
